We explore music captured on 10” shellac discs, and some wax cylinders, in the early recording era. Hear some digital re-masters of recordings from a century ago and compare the versions by today’s artists. Included is Michael Coleman, hailed as the “Saviour of Irish Music,” in recognition of the impact of his pioneering recordings in the U.S. in the 1920s and 30s.
